The concept of the lion as a guardian originated in China over 1800 years ago, during the Han Dynasty. The lion, wild, brave, loyal and agile, acted as a perfect symbol of protection of the home and stove. It had both a symbolic and a decorative function: elegant statues of guardian lions were often placed in front of the homes of the rich and noble, at the gates of the imperial palace and the grave times of Chinese emperors.

The Cold Steels Jade Lion series is very popular among collectors and supporters of Chinese martial arts. Hand-forged and forged from high-quality Damascus steel, the blades are not only sharp, but also beautiful thanks to their sophisticated design. The paring elements and knobs are made of silver and decorated with the Chinese motif of the vigilant lion. They contrast beautifully with the jade cord wrapping of the handles and the rosewood sheaths, which are embossed with ray skin (satee).

The Jade Lion Dagger is the smaller version of the Jade Lion Sword. The design and materials used are identical, and the dagger has been put into just as much craftsmanship as its larger counterpart. It is perfectly balanced and strong enough to be carried as a stand-alone weapon or as an accessory weapon for its larger brother.
