The Shirasaya is a type of sword specifically designed to better preserve the blade. It is made of magnolia, an untreated wood that has no acid or other substances that can damage the blade. By not being treated afterwards, it absorbs moisture from the sword and prevents corrosion and aging. The Katana stays dry and rust-free, which prolongs its lifespan.

This sword is a real treasure with exclusive details. By bearing the signature "Sayagaki" on the Shirasaya, information about the origin of the blade can be found, such as the date and place of forging, the name of the blacksmith and the evaluator. In addition, the Katana's resemblance to a wooden or stick sword allows its owner to go unnoticed and carry it with him without any problems.

The Katana blade is made of 1045 carbon steel and traditionally hardened and hand forged. It is sharpened and grooved with a Bo-Hi (full) to reduce its weight and make it easier to handle. The hilt is particularly long and fixed with two bamboo pegs (mekugi), allowing the sword to be completely dismantled for inspection or maintenance.
