Below, we present the 10 most iconic villains (and antagonists), their history, characteristics and, where applicable, the color of their lightsaber, symbol of dark power. Palpatine / Darth Sidious At the top is Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious. It appears throughout the saga, from the prequels to episode IX, and even in series like The Clone Wars and Rebels . An expert in political manipulation, he is the architect of the fall of the Republic and the Galactic Empire. The origin of Captain America's shield In the original Marvel comics, published in 1941, Steve Rogers receives his shield after being transformed into the super soldier "Captain America" thanks to the super soldier serum. Initially, their shield was triangular, similar to a medieval emblem. Shortly after, the iconic circular design we all know was introduced.
