A Remake That Respects the Legacy
The original Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube series aired between 1996 and 1997, accumulating 49 episodes, three OVAs, three films, and a live-action adaptation.
Its story, starring Meisuke Nueno, aka Nube, combines supernatural action, Japanese mythology, and elements of school horror, attracting generations of readers and viewers. This remake, officially announced during the AnimeJapan 2025 event, recaptures the essence of Takeshi Okano and Sho Makura's original manga, while also expanding its narrative universe.
The new anime arrives in two parts: the first part premieres on July 2 with a double-length episode, while the second is scheduled for January 2026.
High-Level Production for a Renewed Classic
The production of this version is handled by Studio KAI, known for works such as Sentenced to Be a Hero and Captain Tsubasa: Junior Youth Arc.
The direction is by Yasuyuki Ōishi, with experience in Hoshiai no Sora, accompanied by Fumito Yamada as assistant.
The script is by Yoshiki Ōkusa, and the character design by Yū Yoshiyama, whose credits include Dragon Ball Super and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury.
The original soundtrack is by Evan Call, renowned for his work on Violet Evergarden and My Happy Marriage.
This combination of talents guarantees a quality production, capable of capturing both the nostalgia of veteran fans and the attention of new audiences discovering the story for the first time.

Synopsis and Central Plot
The story of Jigoku Sensei Nube Kai follows Nube, a kind and somewhat clumsy elementary school teacher in the city of Domori. However, he harbors a dark secret: his left hand is possessed by a demon.
Thanks to his psychic powers, Nube becomes the protector of his students against evil spirits, ghosts, and paranormal phenomena that threaten the school.
In this new version, the protagonist travels through space and time to save his students, who have been trapped in a world governed by horror stories.
This premise offers an evolution in the narrative, allowing for new adventures without losing the dark and educational tone that characterized the original material.

With a high-level production team, a story that fuses horror, action, and Japanese folklore, and a solid fan base both in Japan and abroad, the remake of Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube promises to be one of the most outstanding releases of the 2025 anime season.
The international premiere on Crunchyroll, its broadcast on TV Asahi, and the start of a new manga publication in Shueisha mark a rebirth of this legendary franchise.
