Arrakis, the desert planet of Dune, will welcome console players
Dune: Awakening will arrive on September 22, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, incorporating a major update for all platforms simultaneously, as the console launch will be accompanied by the arrival of the single-player mode, the final chapter of the Book One story, and numerous improvements accumulated since the PC version's release in June 2025.
The arrival on consoles will mark an important moment for the open-world survival game set in the Dune universe, in which new players will be able to directly access a version that gathers the content and improvements released during the first year, while those already playing on PC will receive the features incorporated with the September update.
Additionally, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will feature an experience adapted for consoles and will offer different graphics settings.
The release will also expand access to the game via Xbox Game Pass.

A complete story on Arrakis
One of the most important new features will be the single-player mode, a function that players have requested since the release of Dune: Awakening, which will make it possible, starting with this update, to traverse the adventure solo and progress at one's own pace, with different difficulty levels and options to customize certain aspects of the experience.
The individual mode will retain much of the elements present in the multiplayer experience: non-playable characters will remain present and the player will be able to traverse Arrakis, build their base, gather resources, and face the dangers of the planet without sharing the world with other users.
The update will also complete the main story of Book One of Dune: Awakening. The game has received its first acts since its launch and has subsequently expanded the campaign through different chapters, and this update will bring the final act, allowing players to go through the complete story from its beginning to its conclusion.

A year of changes for Dune
Console players will also receive the main improvements that Funcom has introduced to Dune: Awakening since its PC launch. Among them, the evolution of gameplay options based on interaction with other players stands out, with alternatives designed for those who prefer to focus on survival and exploration; in this way, PvE will allow players to go through the content without mandatorily participating in combat against other players. The Deep Desert will have a PvE instance and a PvP instance, while certain areas will incorporate changes intended to facilitate the experience for those who prefer to face Arrakis in a more relaxed way.
Adjustments to servers, stability improvements, new options for customizing characters and items, changes in storage, modifications to loot systems, and improvements related to vehicles have also been prepared.
On September 22, the Filmic Archive DLC will also be released, inspired by Denis Villeneuve's films, which will add visual elements related to Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two, and the content will be available for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5.
For their part, and although the official release is scheduled for September 22, players who purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate editions will be able to begin the adventure five days earlier, starting September 17, as part of their benefits in these editions.
Meanwhile, the physical edition for PlayStation 5 will also arrive on September 22 in selected markets, and cross-play between PC and consoles will arrive after the launch, so this function will not be available from day one.
With the arrival of Dune: Awakening on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Funcom will expand access to its interpretation of Arrakis and will bring together in this new phase a complete campaign, a single-player mode, content added during the first year, and new options for those who prefer to traverse the desert solo or alongside other players, with joint updates for the PC version, so that both old and new players are on equal footing, whether their adventure is just beginning or they are already well into it.
